Overview of the Leadership Journey
What makes the biz-ability Leadership Journey Different?
Our focus in on delivering sustainable and measurable improvement in the performance of your managers and supervisors by enhancing their leadership capabilities. To do this we adhere to three principles:
a. Tailored Content
We spend time with your organisation to understand the issues and design the programme so that the Leadership Journey takes specific account of your company values, performance management system and ways of working (policies and procedures).
b. Assessment and Coaching
Our process provides assessment, support and feedback throughout the Journey including:
- One to One coaching with an ILM accredited coach
- End of stage 1 evaluation gate
- Learning sets
- Learning logs
c. Tangible Business Results
We focus on providing the measurable return on investment for leadership training

- Report on results and assignment measures
Critical Success Factors
- Support from manager of participants to ensure work based assignments are achieved
- Full attendance for all elements of the programme
- Pre selection of participants to ensure they are sufficiently committed to successful completion
- Workshops scheduled with minimum of two weeks in between to enable participants to complete work based assignments, learning sets & leadership logs
- Break between Stage One & Two to enable participants to fully implement, digest & recharge batteries
- biz-ability uses a strategy that only confirms participants for the whole ILM programme on successful completion of Stage One thus ensuring full commitment before further investment
Participants Profile
This is based on the ILM level 3 accreditation requirements, which suits managers who have been in the role for 2-3 years and have a team to manage. It is however very adaptable to high potential leaders and new managers, and would be modified during the design stage to meet all participant levels. During the research phase it will be identified if participants need first to complete our Foundation Leadership Programme before embarking on the full ILM Leadership Journey.
